Duration: 1,5 hour
Fancy an espresso or a hot “ciaccia sul panaro” (a typical stone cooked bread, filled with italian sausages, parma ham and lots of other yummy things)? Leaving the Centro Ippico San Giovanni following the path to the old Bisacchi church, we ride a beautiful dirt road that leads to the Great Oak: an ancient tree which belongs to endless memories, once was hosting a WW2 german tank which got hitted during a fight.
Passing with the oak on the hand right side we have a slope and an ancient path that crossed the hills since centuries. Slowly descending to cross the provincial road, we reach the crossing point of the Soara creek.
Crossing the dirt road parallel to the Soara, we reach a new passage that in a few minutes will lead to Città di Castello “beach”. Here, from centuries ago, Tifernati (Città di Castello inhabitants) spend their hot summer days alterning refreshing baths in the clear creek water to little lie downs under the many trees shade.
Here we also find a little typical bar and restaurant: its name is Bar del Sasso, a must-go place for local hunters and tourists too, it is well renowned for the delicious above mentioned Ciaccia sul Panaro, available all year long. After a little break is time to get back to the Centro Ippico following the road we came from.
